rdame
I have a 13 gallon tank what is the gph i need for my powerhead? Link to comment
seabass
Think about total flow (from a power filter, powerhead, return pump...). For a typical reef, about 25 times turnover is decent. So, 13 x 25 = 325gph of total flow is about right. Link to comment
Flicker
It really depends on what you are stocking. If it is just mushrooms then very little is need. If it's full of SPS then you need lots of flow. The main thing is to try to keep it random and not laminar. Link to comment
jtgordon20
^ +1. You need to adjust it to what suites your tank. My 10 gallon right now has around 60-65 turn over. and wouldn't mind having more. Have to hit those dead spots and try to randomize the flow. Link to comment
