Alright, some decent changes. I seeded the sandbed from my 29 and to be honest, I am noticing very minimal cycle. Are paramaters are currently in check and a very minuscule diatom bloom has started to recede already.

I did a small water change yesterday and since everything appears stable at the moment.

I did a bad and added 2 small frags ( 1 small zoa rock and 1 shroom). No worries though, I am testing params twice a day and doing small changes as necessary. I guess it's borderline soft cycle if you will.

I would like to add a small cuc soon, maybe a few ceriths? Not sure yet though.

I will be ordering my LED's, buckpucks, heat sink and all the goodies at the end of this month.

Without further ado, pics!

Also, I was intending to get a betta for work because I don't really have the plugs(nor time) for a pico at work but the wife didn't think he would like it there.

Please meet.....

Darth Betta

Nice betta! I have a HM just like it. His name is Sapphire. He's in a Fluval Chi with 3 Galacy Rasboras, and 4 cherry shrimp.

Nice :D

I picked up that little .9 gal cube for about 15 bucks. It's really nice for the price tbh. All glass ftw! :P

have you considered making a fuge in the back? IS the room for that??

I have a AC70 somewhere and have definitely considered making it a fuge....I just have to find it so I can see if it will fit. Our dwelling is all sorts of torn up right now so I can't even get to the room where it might be. Yay early spring rearranging/cleaning/oh look hun, we blew the livingroom up :P

I think it is too big though. I need to rig together an ATO unit but I am undecided as to whether I want to go powered or gravity feed.

Decisions decisions.

Haha!

It was supposed to be an at work betta but then the wife thought he would like it better at home.

Needless to say....

Darth Betta lives at home and I had to get another (Boba Fish) for work.

I spent about $100 on bettas/setups this week...

/facepalm

Did I mention that the wife also wanted one for her desk at work?

Oh my.... I intended 1 fish at work and have 3 whole setups.

Yeah that can happen. For my betta setup I did the new Fluval Chi with a HM betta, 3 Galaxy Rasboras, and 4 cherry shrimp. I have about $150 in that. Then my other FW and I have about $200 in that. This hobby is crzy expencive. omgomgomg

I bought one for work....

Then my wife wanted one for her desk at home....

Then she decided that the one I initially bought for work liked it better at home..

So I had to buy a 3rd for my desk at work.

Thus, 3 setups :P

I'm not sure but I think my moonlight options just punched me in the face.

I am sitting here at work, done for the day with 2.5 hours left and it hit me.

I have an old current PC fixture with...... YOU GUESSED IT!

moonlight leds. If I remember correctly, it has 2-3 moonlight LEDs and I am pretty sure I am going to ninja them from that old fixture.

I think it could work.

Hey, I got a fluval spec for my birthday, the thing is awesome!! Have u done any mods yet?! The media rack sponge thing it comes with is super terrrible!! I want to make one real bad that will hopefully be better! I like ur tank it looks good, I haven't got my rock work right yet, but I really like it!

You think an ac 20 would fit?! I'm trying to think of any mods at all that I could do with this thing!! Im ordering a led lamp, cuz idk how to make one!! Good luck on ur light build!!

Or putting mangroves in the back!!

So, I added 3 ceriths to aide with a wee bit of algae.

My LED's and heatsink should be here tomorrow!!!!!

I am stopping at radioshack on the way home to grab some misc. things(switches, maybe a project box, etc)

Those moonlights in my old current fixture......trash.

I didn't think they were soooo dead but they are. *shrugs*

Fully homemade moonlight ftw? I am thinking a standard blue LED on a pot to dim it way down.

Thoughts?

I got them from LedSupply.

3 RoyalBlue

3 Q5 whites

2 1000ma dimmable drivers

It is 100% overkill but allows for future upgrades :D

Wowzers 6 LEDs for a 2 gallon.?!?! omgomgomg

Totally.

That's why I got the dimmable drivers.

:D

I personally like versatility and if I ever get another(bigger) pico, I can always swap lighting around.

This is my first LED build and may require some...experimenting :P

You and me both man.

It all gets here today but I don't know if I will get time to "play" until the weekend.

I am still sketching up my shroud/pendant/hood for the fixture.

WTB more free time.

Are you using the computer program called sketch up to sketch everything out? If so what template cause I'm a little confused with that program.

Thanks MD
