cut off a dying piece of Xenia?

My big xenia colony grew one arm (at an alarming rate) that went to a spot that it didnt like. its been slowly doing worse (only that one arm) and it seems pretty certain its going to die. im not worried about it, its a small arm of a much larger colony but I dont know if i should remove that arm. Will it hurt the rest of the colony? Will it decay in a nasty way like a fish would?

Just let it go.. if it dies off, it won't hurt anything.
