Adding sand to a cycled tank

I am about 5 weeks in on my tanks cycle. I was wondering if you could add more live sand or if this would be bad for everything..???

 

Also, what is a good clean up crew member that will eat either diatom or hair algae off the glass

If you add sand. Wash it out with water, I normally do it in the shower, and then soak it through with RO/DI water and then add it.

When adding to a cycled tank, I like to use dry sand instead of live sand. Either way rinse it like stated above.

Got ya, yeah I dont know if ill go with live or dry sand.. We'll see I guess, but ill definately rinse it out if thats what is best for it.

And yeah, I just got my new CUC about 3 days ago - ate everything on my tank, and now my rocks are almost bare :-| good or bad, I dunno - but we'll see how that works out
