sychomantis
Hello everyone, I picked up a sun coral three days ago and have been trying to feed it every night. The first couple of days a good amount of polyps were opened at night. Tonight most of its mouths are wide open but no tentacles are out. I fed my tank a mixture of cyclopeeze, brine, and mysis tonight and the coral did not respond as I would have expected. Sorry for the bad picture but at least you can get an idea. Should I be worried? Link to comment
pj86
Very nice colony there. It will take some time for it to get accustomed to your feeding schedule. Make sure that the food remains on the polyps for and extended period of time (like 40 minutes.) The polyps will still eat even if they dont extend their tentacles. They will soon learn that it is feeding time and will extend fully. Link to comment
sychomantis
Thanks Pj, I was going to do the two liter bottle method for the feeding but the colony is too large to fit inside one. Link to comment
