suppressing LED shimmer?

I dont have any problem with shimmer.My lights are only a few inches above the water ,dont know if that makes a difference. I just dont pay any attention to it and really dont see it as I'm looking at my tank.

You can also try squinting or sunglasses.

I know this an old thread but, son of a b*tch am I glad I came across this. I love the color my LEDs put out but the shimmer makes me wants throw the light into the wall. I know the shields come with a protective film when they are new. I wonder if I should have just left them on.
