Ralgo
Thanks guys. I tried a DIY skimmer but took it out after my blue hanna made it his final resting place. I do a 5 gallon water change once a week. How Ive been doing that is since I feed on Wed and Sat I turn the mp10 to the setting to stir up detritus and do the 5 gallon change about 10 minutes after that on Thursday. Seems to be working out. Now that I have the sun coral i may want to look into some more extreme nutrient export since I have to fill its gut with mysis 3 times a week. Link to comment

Ralgo
Well I have Barrier Reef near to my job and there was Pets unlimited in Coral Springs but they went under a few months ago. I bounce around between Barrier, Fragfarmer (store house in boca) and Eco Marine Link to comment
Ralgo
I recently got my upgraded hood set up and figured it was time for a new post. First the before and after Old Lighting New Lighting So I cut a hole in an old biocube hood and fitted this 150w MH +2x14w T5 actinic Qdyssea fixture onto it. Started the lights on the legs at 4hr a day light cycle and now have them up to 6hr per day with the fixture right down on top of the hood. Cooling is done by pointing 2 usb fans zip tied to eggcrate over my back chambers blowing across the water... rigged to turn on and off with the MH. Temps have been 78 - 80.1 ever since. The space I cut out of the Biocube hood was just enough (the entire light box actually) for me to wire up all my PC Lights (4x36w 2 white, 2 blue) over my new tank and 29 gallon that I set up in my living room. I plan to do a planted, softie tank and will be taking this one slow... just moving the excess xenia and mushrooms from my biocube to make room for more LPS and now SPS. On to the pics My new fav... a little blurry... I call it the Engineer Photobomb Nice Macro of my galaxia Bloody Engineer gobies keep throwing sand around New Devil's Hand Leather Can anyone identify? LFS guy told me but I forgot This one too? Green Goniopora frag... I think Ima put this one lower in the tank Blue Cloves from cimil doing great! Shrooms not bad either Move Dude!!! Need another ID... coral in top right of pic and finally a little vid... click to view As always, comments, critiques and recommendations are welcome. PS: the Cyano on the sand is no longer an issue...lol Link to comment
Ralgo
Really like the tank! Looks great! I like the diversity. How often do you do water changes? Do you skim? 5 Gallons every 1-2 weeks when I can. Aquaticlife 115 skimmer in chamber one... Thanks Link to comment
jaynkeel
Posted this on your other link discussing the live rock and thought I share it here as well. Wow this tank is looking great!!! You've got quite the assortment in there and to be honest it all flows together really well and looks balanced. Reading through the thread I was a little bit so so on the arrangement of the rocks until I saw the finished product. Congrats. And for what it's worth, I had about 40lbs of live rock from a tank I took down 4 yrs ago laying in the back yard under snow, leaves, bugs you name it. About a year ago I decided to re use the rock and did a quick couple of rinses under the hose and all has been fine with it. Totally repopulated and looking like it was never out of the water. It has now been in one of my systems for a little over a year and never caused any issues. Link to comment
