nuff40
little history...just re-structured the led lighting on my biocube 14 over the weekend and all had been fine. was acclimating some new pink palys I got yesterday and when I lifted the hood found the last connector for the stunner led's had fallen into the water. Now this is a 24v setup, and I thought (dangerous) I had all connections secure. The dongle couldn't have been in the water for more than a few seconds, but it was more than long enough to shock every piece of coral in the tank. Everything curled up/closed up/shriveled up and has refused to open up again even to this morning. The new palys are the only coral that were unaffected cause they were still in the plastic shipping bag. Nothing looks like it is dying, but they sure are still po'ed. Toadstool leather is shedding (expected that) and hairy mushroom is starting to open back up along with the older palys and zoa's, but xenia, colt and nepthea leather and other mushrooms still unhappy. Guess it's time to take the other half's advice and "leave the tank alone." Link to comment
uwwmatt
I had a back up pump fall into my tank once. I lost all my zoanthids/ clam and a few other things. My toadstool has never been the same, but most things made it out just fine. Link to comment
nuff40
Thanks. Nothing looks like it is dying at this point, but xenia, nepthea, toadstool, zoa's are still not expanding. Toadstool has stopped shedding, and hairy mushroom is looking almost normal. Older Palys are looking rough yet, but expanding some. Colt looks ok, and is going to get mounted again today...hopefully for the last time. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Link to comment
