new2reef
This is weird, but I have bubble algae growing on the vents in the cover of my Hydor Evo PH. I guess it's anchored to the coraline. I've manually removed the BA, scraped the area it was growing and washed it off. Anything else I can do to ensure it's gone? What about soaking in vinegar? I know that removes the coraline - would it help with the BA? Thanks for any thoughts. Link to comment
peewee1467
1.take the powerhead out 2. scrub it with a clean tooth brush 3. rinse it realllllly well 4. make sure there isnt any bubble algae left on the powerhead you should be good after that make sure u dont have any more bubble algae in the tank. it its on pieces of rocks, take the rock out and do the same. if you arent to take the rock out, an emerald crab might help. just be careful not to pop the bubble algae in the tank or else itll release stuff that will spread it. goodluck Link to comment

Wasn't sure if a vinegar soak would do any good . I also tried to remove a few BA on LR, but is hard since I can't remove LR from tank. Never sure if removal attempts do more good or harm. BA seems to not be spreading. Have Emerald Crab but not sure if it likes BA. Thanks for response. Link to comment
joy13
You can soak the powerhead in vinegar and it will also clean out the inside. Then let it run a few minutes in fresh water. http://www.youtube.com/user/mrsaltwatertan...h/0/MeqtPe3XukM Link to comment
