saltysupply
I want to know what you guys think is the best skimmer for a jbj 28 gallon nano...Haven't been in the nano game for long so I'm a little behind...I recently set up my fiance a new 28 gallon CF quad and it needs a skimmer....what do you guys prefer. Was just thinking about doing the JBJ brand, nothing else seems to fit int he back. Link to comment
nibor
Tunze 9002 with one of these. InTank belongs to one of the members on here. He developed products for his own Red Sea Max and over the last 3 years os so it has grown into this. The Mediabaskets are well regarded as well. Link to comment

john miller
Eshopps 75h, inTank media basket with chaeto in center chamber and JBJ magnetic fuge light Is this the setup you have? I've been trying to find a pic of the Eshopps 75 and JBJ fuge light combo and haven't had any luck. Link to comment

I've also heard good this about aqua c remora Link to comment
NoFo83
I also have a 28g jbj, and my Eshopps skimmer gets here tomorrow. From what I understand, it fits nicely with zero cutting to anything. Link to comment
john miller
I dry fitted mine and it fits perfectly in chambers 2 & 4. Link to comment
mr9iron
Go with either the Deltec or a Warner Marine H1 v2. I have the WM and love it. Link to comment

I'm new here and have JBJ 28g LED with JBJ air stone cheap skimmer. I'm having problems getting consistent operation and am looking for a replacement, but have the tank too close to the wall for a hang on. I like how the Tunze 9002 with the small cup fits, but wonder how you filter the water since it replaces the media basket completely. Thanks, Mike Link to comment

Thanks, Mike I have the 28 LED and started with the tunze but got rid of it as I found that it is too sensitive to water level. I just got the aquamaxx HOB-1 and after it broke IMO is 500 times better than the tunze. This also allows me to run a media basket in the center chamber vs gheto rigging a bag of chemipure and my chiller return line. Link to comment
urbaneks
Save your money and run skimmerless. A good media basket with floss, carbon and GFO is all you need. Weekly water changes of course! My tank is 1.5 years in the making with no skimmer. Link to comment

My tank is 1.5 years in the making with no skimmer. I have just come through months of my tank having crashed and a lot of stuff died - wish my LFS would have been very specific on all the pitfalls of salt and the mandatory requirement of weekly water changes, but that's another very long story... Things are looking better - I'm doing twice-weekly water changes of 5 gallons. The slime/algae is finally not growing back out-of-control. One of the most confusing things about salt water tanks are the many different ways to get to the same result of a healthy/flourishing tank. Sry, long post - I'm also using the JBJ foam piece in the media basket - any positives/negatives compared to floss? Mike Link to comment
FishStrings
I found this brand new on drfostersmith. Just came out in my last issue. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/prod...mp;pcatid=22580 Link to comment
LPS-Crazy
Those are still pretty new to the market so there isnt a lot of feedback yet however the limited reviews I have checked out give them a thumbs up. Link to comment
justinT
I HAD a aquac remora, but it just stopped pulling anything out. Cleaning the pump and everything else didn't help either. I got an eshopps 75HOB, and after a break in period its pulling a LOT out. MUCH better! Also I had to MOD the remora a little bit because the lip where the water leaves the skimmer was too big to fit on back, and getting the pump in and out of the chamber was practically IMPOSSIBLE. Would take hours until it was wiggled EXACTLY the right way that it would fit. Eshopps was just easier- dropped in and started up! Occasionally get microbubbles, (after feeding, cleaning) but they go away. Otherwise perfect! Link to comment
