mrviter
I JUST BOUGHT A 6GAL FLUVAL EDGE TANK, IS BEEN A WEEK. I ADDED LIFE SAND, LIFE ROCK AND A CLOWN FLISH. I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS: WHEN CAN I START ADDING THE CLEAN UP CREW AND HOW MANY? WHAT'S THE BEST TYPE OF FOOD FOR MY CLOWN FISH? AND WHATS THE BEST ANONEMIE FOR MY CLOWN FISH? THAT'S IT FOR NOW. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT AND SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU! Link to comment
elpez
Well. The short answer is that you should have added the cleanup crew first and you need to do a bit of research if you want to keep an anemone long term. Link to comment
GiantBen
First: Be prepared to recieve some rude comments about this setup (not from me). I'll be civil, but I can't promise what others will say. I think that most likley you have added that clown fish too early. Your tank will need time to cycle, and develop proper eco balance before that fish should be added. Info on cycling a tank can be found in the begginners forum, or can be googled for. Try reef aquarium cycle. During the cycle you will want to test for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. When these zero out, you could add some cuc and them some coral. For a fish, I'd wait a couple weeks after the cycle. Please do these tests and if the parameters are not in check, return the fish. As for an anenome, what type of lighting to you have on the setup? An anenome requires a very mature tank (I believe at least six months old) and very high lighting: halide, T5 or LED. Please go to the beginners forum and read up on the common beginner pitfalls. Link to comment

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT AND SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU! Welcome You have sort of gotten off on the wrong foot here with your build, I am sure people will point that out to you quickly. But don't get discouraged. You need to slow down, remove the clown fish until after the tank cycles (even then you probably shouldn't have a clown in a tank that small). Your clean up crew should be added after the cycle but before fish. You can't have an anemone in a tank that small, even if your tank was large enough you need to wait several months while your tank stabilizes. Keep asking questions, we will help if you are willing to listen. Link to comment
GiantBen
Troll IMO. Man, nano reef us really starting to suck Doesn't seem like a troll, but who knows. If it is, I wasted my time. I don't see what people get out of trolling... Link to comment

matt frizz
You should start digging a grave for that clown because it's probably going to die. You need to go research tank cycles because you shouldn't add fish to a tank until a month after you set it up. You don't seem to have at least T5H0 lighting so you probably cannot have an anemone that will last in your tank. Also seeing as you don't know anything about this, I doubt you set up the tank correctly for long term success. Did you use tap water? I see no heater, no filtration of any kind, and no powerhead. This tank is screaming failure so you should really research exactly what it takes to set up a saltwater tank correctly before diving into it. That's a great way to throw away your money real fast. The price of proper equipment alone is enough to ruin a lot of peoples dreams of owning a saltwater tank. EDIT: This is a 6 gallon i just noticed. Dude, you can't even have a clown in that tank especially w/ no form of filtration. Who told you that you can do this???? Petco? Link to comment
cdr5y7
id recommend buying a clam, throw it in a blender and feed that to your clown. please tell me ashton kutcher is behind this thread! ahhhhh we got punked. Link to comment

GokesReef
The clown's been in there a week.. with good sand and rock. No reason to think it'll die if it hasn't yet. Either way, start with the library at the top. +1 on troll, though.. caps and misspellings make it too obvious. Link to comment
