will46r
I bought a battery powered LED to use for a moonlight. It's powered by 10 watch batteries. When I hook it up to a phone charger it won't light up, any thoughts? Link to comment

marinoob
well just taking complete guesses but it takes 6 button cell watch batteries in series those button cells are usually 1.5v so 6 of them in series equal 9v and a normal cell hone charger is usually like 4-5v. if it is just a single led it probably needs 3.4v to power up. so they probably have some kind of resistor to take it from 9v to 3.4v and if your only feeding it 5v then the resistor is probably cutting off all your power. now i am only guessing with my limited knowledge of led's. and i mean limited. check the voltage on the battery. also think amps come into play somewhere in there :-) matter of fact you should probably disregard everything i say :-) Link to comment
