UV protection as in a glass shield with special UV blocking characteristics, or regular glass? Regular glass is fine. If you run a DE bulb without a shield (regular glass, tempered glass, lexan acrylic etc..), is like thunder in paradise, playing with him is like playing with your life. Link to comment
matt the fiddler Posted June 18, 2004 Share Posted June 18, 2004 tempered plexi is imnpossible.. glass [with it's unique properties] is superheated in it's final stage only after it is molded. - this tempers the glass, you break all or none of it.. distributes focal points of force.. as plastic is not a liquid in nature and jsut isn't glass chemically- this would be pretty hard to do...
