Trav86
This was my first saltwater tank and I only bought 2 margarita snails along with the other snails for my cleanup crew. I read that snail eggs rarely hatch and if they do they rarely survive. However I count 8 little margarita snails some about the size of peas now. It's funny, I've been neglecting the tank and most of the other snails (ceriths) have gone missing. I'm hoping I can save these little guys for my new tank. Link to comment

sublunary
I've never heard of any one breeding margaritas, but I've never really looked into it. I have two and they've never laid eggs. They're also a temperate species and don't live as long in our warm tanks, so breeding is even more unlikely. Are you sure the pea-sized snails you have aren't collonistas or something similar that came in on your rock? Pics would help. Link to comment

I can take pictures tomorrow morning. I starred at them for a long time. They look just like the Margarita. I'd be surprised of they were from the rock. I only had a couple lbs from a lfs and there wasn't much life on them at all. Link to comment
