GokesReef
Alright.. I apologize in advance for no pics, I tried to take a video, but my camera is useless when you combine only having moonlights with the speed of the worm. So - I will do my best to describe it and hope someone can point me in a good direction Now, I'm not particularly concerned with what this is, just curious, as I've not heard of or seen anything like it online - yet. I noticed this worm, well, two of them, at around 2 a.m. (2 hours after the tank went to just moonlights) swimming near the top of the water column. The larger one was just over an inch and moved/swam in a typical worm, eel or snake like fashion, throughout the tank. It seemed to have bristles around it, hard to tell. When I hit it with a flash lights or the LED on my phone (trying to video / photo it) it would go still and free fall in the tank until the light was taken away, at which point it would start to swim around again. At one point, it hit my clown and there was basically no reaction. The clown moved away but didn't seem to be hurt by or concerned with eating it. I know the details are vague, and there's probably a million possibilities, but any names I can look at pics at would be great. I'll keep trying to get some footage of it. Thanks! Link to comment
lakshwadeep
It sounds like epitoky, a form of bristle worm reproduction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epitoky Link to comment
