Hi there,

I have purchased a new cube tank from Advanced Acrylics and I wanted to share my progress with all the members on this form. I have been using Nano-reef as a resource for years now and would like to make a thread for my new tank.

I received the tank on Christmas Eve and since then I have put 20lbs of live sand and 10 pounds of live rock into the main tank. I am running a maxi-jet 600 in the filter with a little bit of floss. For lighting I have a total of 36 watts HO T-5s.

I will be posting pics later this evening and I hope you enjoy. I am open to all comments and would appreciate any help and or advice.

Hi There,

So I tested my amonia levels last night and came up with a reading of 2.0. The tank has been running for 4 days. So far I can see a little die off from the rocks that is getting picked up by the filter floss. How often should I be doing water changes right now?

I usaually do about a gallon water change a week, but wasn't sure about what to do durning the cycle period. Also I was going to change out the filter floss tonight. Will that effect the cycle? Thanks for your help in advance.

Thanks! Ok, so right when I got home today there was a nice package waiting for me......My K-2 Viper Deluxe. Here are some pics. Let me know what you think, the first pics I posted were with the t-5s. I like the blue they give out. I will be purchasing the phoenix 14,000K 150watt bulb ASAP. I used that on my last nano and the blue it brings out is great.

Oh yea.....amonia still at 2.0. should I be doing any water changes during the cycle period?
