Anyone light a 10g with a 175w MH?

I'm setting up a 10g tank that's going to serve double duty as a frag and quarantine tank (obviously not at once) and I was wondering if any of you guys have blasted one with a 175w MH. Obviously I'd need to set it pretty high to avoid heat and scorching, but I'm using an old spider reflector, so that would help out some.

The main reason for me wanting to do this is simplicity. I have the retrofit already and my alternative is a quad T5 retro (which I also have). The T5s will hang over the tank and could look pretty sloppy. With the MH, I could build a pendent to keep it looking nice and clean. My main concern is scorching zoas and palys.

All the time. It does need to be a bit high but not a lot. a fan on the bulb and a cover is all that's necessary . LED is the other major chose 10 gallon tanks.

LEDs would definitely be my first choice, but I can't spend any money on it. that was the deal with the wife. I get to set up a spare tank but I have to use garage parts. I do have a few reflectors of various quality to choose from that will let me adjust how much light really makes it in the tank. Basically, i have a few pretty crappy reflectors that might actually serve a purpose :P
