That is a big flat worm. I have seen what seems like a lot of these recently, they are believed to not be reef safe unfortunately.

Thanks. Do they reproduce asexually? Should I worry about some more. This could have came with the same new rock that came with a huge white and brown mithrax crab.

It's a Polyclad Flatworm. There are several threads going on about them currently. It seems like they eat snails by suffocating them.

ThankS guys. Just did a search on them. Clown fish jumped in the back so I had to remoVe the pump to get him. It was under the pump so catching it was easy.

It is in my yard now

For those of you that have been anxiously waiting for an update, I'm sorry to say the flatworm did not make it out alive.

He died in my yard a couple of weeks ago.

On a brighter note, this is my 200th post.

You just threw it out in the yard just like that?

Are you crazy? Of course not.

I gently placed him down, wished him luck and parted ways.

I figured there were tons of snails for him to scavenge out there.

Could have sold it. People pay big bucks for huge inverts like that.

i agree. i had a polyclad flatworm a bit under a year ago that when stretched out reached 6inches. he got that big by killing and eating at least 10 snails and unknown numbers of anything he could find for prolly around 1 year or so. while i was desperatly trying to figure out what was killing my snail  now all is fine though. i did kill him, as i was told to do so at the time, not realizing that like they said, people would pay good money for a large invert like that... well, too late now.
