wowser
I have a 24 gallon nano. Was doing great until I had a semi crash. I think a dying long-tentical plate coral brought the tank down and I lost a lot of SP and my LPS bleached out. All the while my two clams and BTA did fine, never looked bad. Should I toss the bleached frogspawn, hammer and receding lobo? Or stick it out? I also noticed my plate (a different one) is receding. Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0 Ph 7.9-8.2 temp solid 79 salt 1.025 calcium 480 dkh a little low at 6 salt mix was oceanpure (wasn't happy with it) then switched back to Coralife Marine Salt. Weekly 5 gal (20%) changes. Have fuge with chaeto, chemipure elite and filter floss. Lighting is 150 Phoenix MH. Two fish with lots of CUCs. 1.5" sand bottom. Any help appreciated so I can restore my tank to its previous glory! Link to comment
SpringFever
The low dkh is not helping things but up-ing it too quickly won't make it better, either. I say stick it out if they are still alive. First thing would be to check Mag. If it is low (<1300 IMO) then getting a balance between Calc and Alk will be next to impossible. Once Mag is verified, SLOWLY increase your Alk. This can be done with more frequent (2X per week) water changes or with an aditive. FWIW, the only bleaching episode I've ever gone through was due to an Alk swing. Go slow and go for a stable balance. Link to comment
