20,000geeksUNDERtheSEA
Not big on electrical, and not sure which wires to cut here. Can anyone give me a little input. I could really use the help thanks. .. Link to comment
Stephensx04
Should cut based on what I think your doing either wire going to the pump motor red or black. Shouldn't make much of a difference. I'm assuming your just wiring a float switch into it correct? Link to comment
20,000geeksUNDERtheSEA
Yes Im wiring up a float switch. I'm just confused because there are 2 red wires going to the switch it self. One goes to the motor and the other to the batteries. The black wire on the right goes from the motor to the batteries. Link to comment
Stephensx04
Its up to you how you want it wired. Either red wire will work. All your doing in tapping into the circuit and putting the float switch in. battery>stock switch>pump>back to battery. Battery>stock switch>pump>level sensor>back to battery. I like to wire in on the ground side as it tends to not arch the switch as much on the ground side. Link to comment
20,000geeksUNDERtheSEA
Ok so as long as I do one red one black I'll be ok? Which is the ground side. Looking at the picture on the right, which wires would you splice? The second red wire in and the black? ... thanks for the help Link to comment
20,000geeksUNDERtheSEA
Or do I just cut one, of either red wire and connect a yellow to each end? Link to comment
Stephensx04
Cut the black wire and wire your float switch into that one. Only the black wire. You just cutting the circuit and putting your switch in line. Link to comment
