20gFOWLR Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 I have a 20 gallon tank just set up a few weeks ago with 25 pounds live rock, 35 pounds live sand, a Red Sea Prizm protein skimmer, Aqauclear 150 with no media in it just for flow, and Penguin 550 powerhead. It is currently filled with Catalina filtered seawater and I plan to do monthly 5 gallon changes with it. I top off every day or two with 2 cups distilled water. My plans are to make this tank home to just 2 false percula clowns. No fancy corals, just live rock, cleanup crew and fish. Once the ammonia and nitrite levels drop to zero (right now ammonia is at 1.0 and nitrite 1.5) I plan to add a cleanup crew. I'm thinking 2 weeks. What do you suggest as far as shrimp, crabs and snails for a cleanup crew in this tank?
Fant Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Its a matter of what you want to get/look at. Cleanup crews are all marketing bull IMO
20gFOWLR Posted February 14, 2004 Author Posted February 14, 2004 I would like snails, hermits, crabs and shrimp for looks....they all seem to fit into the tank to make it look nice.....especially because it isnt going to look extremely full with just 2 false percula clowns. What species do you suggest? Heres what I'm thinking: 1 Skunk cleaner shrimp 2 Peppermint shrimp 10 baha cerith snails 3 nassarius snails 3 bumble bee snails 5 Red scarlet hermits 1 Emerald green crab What do you think?
