LED to grow chateo

Both of the LED strips that were linked in the first post aren't going to be particularly effective. They will grow cheato that is directly against the LEDs, but they will have no penetrating power. As a result, growth will be slow at best. Good submersible high power LED lights don't exist just yet, so halogen is your best bet. 5W isn't going to do much for your tank temps, so don't worry about it.

Thanks for the fast reply! Do think it would be better to get a 5 watt or a 10 watt?

For something as small as an AC fuge, the 5W will most likely be enough. More is better though, if you can deal with the added heat. 5W is fairly insignificant, but 10W starts to become noticable.

I have a 3W 110V spotlight and chaeto grows like mad. Bought it from eBay. Search for 3W cool white spotlight. Mine was around $5 including shipping and and need E27 regular socket as any other bulb.

I just bought the submersible 5watt light on ebay. I hope it keeps the chateo alive!! Thanks for the advice
