what's up with my green button polyps

I purchased a piece of LR with a small group of orange polyps, orange button polyps and a smaller group of green button about three months ago for my 12 gal. JBJ. Slowly the green polyps have stoped opening. Sometimes one or two will be half open while both types of orange are seemingly doing well. Why are just the green struggling?

welcome to the world of polyps and zoanthids...zoas do odd things and die off for absolutely no reason.

 

could be coral aleopathy, infection of some sort...hard to say.

 

the fact of the matter is sometimes colonies melt away for no reason...as years go by, the less fond I am of these corals for just that reason. my 2 cents
