AZDesertRat
The Elite allows you to use more modules where the Lite only allows 4 but I hav never regretted buying the Lite. I have 2 PC-4 modules for 8 controllable outlets, a SL-1 with the pH probe and a MLC module with 3 moonlight pods on mine and its all I need for my 100G system. It can control lights, moonlights, a chiller or fans, a heater, pumps. powerheads on a wavemaker function, a calcium reactor using the pH probe, an ATO if I added float switches, moonlights on a lunar cycle and much more. The Elite gives you more options which may be good for a large system or if you wanted to hook it to the internet which the Lite will do too if its one of the 4 modules you choose. Link to comment

AZDesertRat
Yes the SL-1 or SL-2 either one has contacts for the ATO standard. Link to comment
