Rymah
i decided to get into some SPS and figured i needed some more flow, right now im running a koralia 1 (400gph) and a koralia evo 750 (750gph) and a maxi jet 900 (245gph) return. this is all in my biocube 29. I have it set up so the koralia 1 is right beside the return and the 750 is under the top intake. The problem im having is that the sand has all shifted to that all across the front of the tank is competly bare (i can see the glass on the bottom) and then the is a little mountain of sand then my rock work.. Where should i point the koralia's so that they stop messing with my sand bed? or is it even possible to stop with this much flow? Link to comment
gabe_j
you just gotta mess with it. but it sounds like you have multiple pumps pushing water in the same direction. try aiming your retrun up to aggitate the surface and 1 ph on back wall facing forward so the flow hits eachother around the front middle of your tank. mabe the extra turbulence will keep the sand down. really its just a matter of placing it right in relation to your rockwork and such that going to dictate where your flow moves. but i don't think thats too much flow by any means you just need to direct it better. hell i had a vortech mp10es on full blast in my 8 gallon tank with a maxijet 900 running my brs media reactor total gph including head loss was still 218.75 give or take a little. your just around 50 right now so just aim it better. good luck. danthenewreefman
i just got another (makes it two) evo1400 for my 75g. It took a while to make sand behave, I swear it was like a final 2cm shift that made everything happy! Link to comment
