Lawnman
I have read on live aquaria that yellow clown gobys should not be kept together. So my question is does anyone keep more than 1 in there nano? Link to comment
animalmaster6
Many people keep pairs. In the wild Yellow Clown Gobies live in colonies in Acropora. Link to comment

swayd
Sorry to kind of hijack this thread, BUT I would also like to know if I could keep 1 clown goby in my 20L with my YWG? Link to comment
animalmaster6
5.5 I wouldn't do it in a tank that small. They will most likely be too aggressive. Sorry to kind of hijack this thread, BUT I would also like to know if I could keep 1 clown goby in my 20L with my YWG? They will get along fine. YWG and YCG do great together, especially if you like yellow! Just be aware that if you are thinking of a Yellow Clown Goby, they do occasionally eat and injure SPS and LPS corals. Link to comment
JeffYoshiyuki
This Clown Gobies can live as a colony with different color Clown Gobies? Link to comment
animalmaster6
This Clown Gobies can live as a colony with different color Clown Gobies? No, they all live in one species specific colony. Link to comment

Sometimes they don't adjust and don't eat. There are many cases of this fish eating and killing SPS and LPS. That is definetly something to be careful of. They are in general a good choice of goby. I watched my newly added YWG attack and kill my previously added YCG. Maybe a freak occurrence, idk. Link to comment

I wouldn't try a colony in a tank that small. They would be too territorial. You also would most likely need giant acro colonies. Link to comment
SparksReef
i think im going to get 5-6 yellow gobies for my 30g long. think they will stick together? Me thinks no, although in the wild they live in groups, aquarium behivor is quite different from my personal experience and what I have read. Unless a mated pair clown gobies will fight unless there is enough space in the tank for the gobies to easily avoid each other. I would try to get a mated pair or only keep one. Link to comment

I would only try to keep a colony in a very large tank with large acro colonies like I said above. Link to comment
Kweli
Do not get 5-6 clown gobies in a tank that size.... they are territorital and will fight It is also difficult to get the yellow clowns to eat frozen food... Not as hard as a manadrin but still difficult. They like to eat live pods Link to comment
