Wow, I may need to do some Macro trades with you at some point, I really like what you have.

Remind me, where did you get the live rock from?

Is it locally collected?

I got it from http://www.gulf-view.com, which doesn't appear to be loading right now. I need to trim the 3 big bushes in the display anyway, so I'd be up for it. What kinda of shipping can this stuff tolerate?

Not really sure, we could always experiment with Priority now that the weather is cooling off a little.

Give me a week or two, my tank will be more ready then.

PM me a reminder, I tend to be forgetful.

Picked up some new corals last night. Half of the lights went out just as I picked up the camera. Will get FTS update shots later.

Proper IDs would be appreciated.

Going to be upgrading tanks. Waiting on custom stand for a Marineland Deep Dimensions 150g cube (36"x36"x27"). It's going to be sweet!!

Just got the bio-pellet reactor online and fed with Microbacter7.

Also got a Radion light the other day. Really like the full spectrum availability and programing. Kinda see the tank with a different color temperature every time I look at it.

Decided it was time for an updated FTS. Also got some other good shots while I was at it.

Do u think one radion fixture is enough for the 40 br or do you think you will have to add another fixture???

The single one definitely lights the whole tank, but not to sps all over levels. I just moved some trumpets up to the frag rack in the very top left because they were getting too much light in the bottom left corner of the tank. Those pics were pretty late in the evening as the light cycle is falling off, and of course the camera doesn't quite capture the same level of illumination that my eyes see.

Ecotech says 2ftx2ft per light, so assuming it's centered that leaves me with falloff for the left and right 6 inches or so of the tank. I kinda like the falloff personally, it gives me more flexibility with lower light coral placement (like my new chalice shelf on the left!)

Nice tank

Thanks!

I'm surprised the tang police haven't been here yet :scarry: But you're upgrading soon! How big are they currently?

I know! They're small still, the blues are around 2 inches and the yellow (who is the happiest brightest yellow of any yellow tangs I've seen, including the one in our 250 8ft tank at the office) is about 3-4 inches. I inherited 2 of the blues from a co-worker who moved cross country. I haven't decided for sure if they will make the move to the new tank or find a different home.

New tank is in! Guess it's time to shut down this thread and fire up a new one.

This 40 is sweet! Cant wait to see the new tank stocked though! Do you think I can get better coverage if i got a radion over a 40B but put it higher?

They just came out with some new internal reflectors that increase output. I'd say coupled with that, a white hood, and a higher mounting point, it'd do just fine. My pictures showed more of a dark spot than I actually had to the sides, but it was pushing it for sps, fine for softies and chalices.
