19jeffro83
Still a little rearranging needed of course but what do you all think so far? Any ideas always welcome so shoot em out please. Link to comment
reef keeper
The rock scape loks cool but why is it darker on the right. Link to comment
19jeffro83
Just moved all my livestock and rock from my biocube and my viper doesn't cover the tank I'm looking for another one or am going to buy a tek 6 bulb fixture not sure yet if I'm sticking with halides or switching to t5 ho. The viper is a 150 and I do like it but undecided. Link to comment
19jeffro83
Well it must be perfect!! No suggestions guys. I'm gonna move it around hunting for ideas before I make all my critters angry more than once. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
I like it. Can you get a horizontal shot? It's hard to tell if the rocks at the right are close to the surface. That would only be a problem if you have lots of branching/plating corals. Link to comment
19jeffro83
I'll click one when i get home and another front shot as well. Oh, and thank you. Like unsaid I don't want to keep shuffling everything around and I know you guys are good at this. I've seen some awsome scales on this site. Link to comment
yoshii
First, this is your tank, so you can scape it however you want, but here's some suggestions that I like #1-This rock isn't supporting anything is it? If it is, ignore this suggestion. Right now, it's in a horizontal position, why not turn it into a more vertical-ish position, leaning on the back main structure, creating a slope and an arch for fish to swim though. You could put corals with a little bit higher lighting needs towards the top of this rock, and maybe some mushrooms of whatever towards the bottom, or maybe corals with more height towards the bottom of the rock, still allowing you to see shorter corals on towards the top of this rock. #2-This single rock is kinda just in the middle of nowhere on your sandbed, why not put it on top of that mound of rock (circled) and create a small cave or overhang? it also adds height to that rock pile, and whatever coral you put on there will stand out. #3-So if you go with #2, then maybe you feel like there's something missing there? Well, if you do, maybe you want to gather up the frags and some larger rubble pieces and put them where the #2 rock was. It won't look so out of place because it's multiple rocks, and you can create mini caves/overhangs/towers/whatever while still providing an attractive place to put your frags. (Also, a small goby/jawfish would probably love it) #4-Is if you feel like you still want more stuff on your sandbed, maybe a clam or plate would go well there I hope this helped! If you want to take a look at what I think is my best scape, click the "20gal" link in my sig, there is a pic in the first post there. Link to comment
19jeffro83
How many fish would everyone keep in a tank this size? I'm only looking toward smaller friendly fish no aggressors. Link to comment
yoshii
It's not really a question of "how many", it can depend on your fish choices, how about you give us a list of all the fish you are interested in, and then we can help you narrow it down to which ones you can put in the tank together Link to comment
19jeffro83
So far I transferred my biocube 14 which contained. Helfrichi fire fish Spoted mandarin Halequin pair porcelain crab Bumble bee shrimp 2 peppermints 2 pom pom crabs And a clean up crew with various snails and hermits of all kinds. Liked your ideas by the way but the back flat rock on the right is supporting most of the structure. Link to comment
19jeffro83
This is what I came up with after a little rearanging. Link to comment
Fnard
I think your latest looks good. Take a look at the following link, may help ya with this or future tanks. http://www.aquariaforums.com/articles/Aura...ns-Aquascaping/ Link to comment
19jeffro83
That's a different link you sent me. Thanks. Don't think I get if though. Link to comment
19jeffro83
Thanks guys. I have a chance to get a pair of bongo shrimp but I don't think I'd see them at all. The pair is like 3/4" 1". Link to comment
animalmaster6
Love it! That list is perfect too. It would look cool if you added a mini school of cardinals and some small gobies Link to comment
19jeffro83
As a matter of fact I was looking at doing a school of orange lined cardinals. I think they're the nicest and a good size for my 50. Link to comment
19jeffro83
How many fish would you keep in this setup? I'm looking to keep sps and am willing to do 7-10 gallon a week in water changes. Id like a gold assessor and probably a possum wrasse as well. I'm running a filter sock, chemipure elite and a new model octopus 110 in fuge skimmer. Link to comment
animalmaster6
You have an awesome skimmer and a fuge so you can keep a lot. What size fuge is it? Depends on the fish You can definetly keep a Gold Assesor and a possum wrasse easily. Link to comment
19jeffro83
Its a 20L I also have chalpura in there as well. Link to comment
animalmaster6
You can absolutely get lots of fish. Link to comment
19jeffro83
I need a light bad for my right side. Been looking for a used 150 viper. Or maybe have to buck up and get a t5 fixture. That's awesome. Like I said earlier. I think I'm sticking to reef, fish and invert friendly. Don't even think I'll be adding a clown. Link to comment
animalmaster6
SPS need high lights so keep that in mind. Don't add too many fish though. Make sure there is enough territory space. Link to comment
19jeffro83
Do you think two 150 w fixtures is enough? Link to comment
