ir0n_ma1den
Because of this disaster, I've decided I need to have a larger volume of water, larger fuge area, and reverse photoperiod on my fuge so I can get rid of this obvious phosphate problem. I can definitely fit a 5.5 gallon tank in the stand and I might just be able to squeeze a 10 gallon tank in there as long as nothing needs to be jutting out from the sides. I have about 40" of overhead starting from the bottom of my stand to the top of my display, which brings me to the question: what pump should use? I'll be getting the rest of the design figured out this week. Link to comment
FZhang
What do you want the sump to hold? A skimmer? Fuge? A 10 gallon would be better in terms of space but a 5.5 would work. I actually had plans for one I was going to use before I decided to go with a 10 next to my tank instead. Link to comment
ir0n_ma1den
I'd want the sump to hold a Fuge, Odyssea PS 75 Protein Skimmer (requires a 10x8in space), a place to put bagged filter media (carbon, chemipure, etc), and a heater. I'd like to use as little PVC as possible, primarily using flexible hosing. Another requirement is no noise. Does anyone have examples of a 10 gallon sump? Link to comment
ir0n_ma1den
Also, instead of using an overflow, would there be a problem making intake and outtake pipes just like a canister filter? Link to comment
Manaz101
Thinking of making a 10gal sump and came across your thread......did you ever get a response or actually accomplish this? Link to comment
