meganistkrieg
Realized last week that it was about four (or five...) months since I'd changed my Chemipure Elite out in my inTank Media Basket. Picked up some at the LFS, not realizing until later that I'd bought a full unit instead of the half unit I'd been using before. I managed to squish it into the bottom section of the basket and the flow through the chamber doesn't SEEM to be affected. My question is: would this excess amount of ChemiPure in my BC14 cause any kind of problems? I have noticed a slight rise in nitrates lately (from the usual 5-10 range to more like 15) but I don't know if that has anything to do with this. Should I change it out for the half-unit instead? Or am I just overthinking things?? Link to comment
seabass
If the flow is still good, I don't see a problem (keep an eye on it so that it doesn't clog). New Chemi-Pure shouldn't cause a rise in nitrate; I'd do a few large water changes to bring it down. Link to comment
Deleted User 6
yeah, the more chemipure the better, imo. your fish should be speaking fluent french in no time. Link to comment

It's not scary-high but still higher than I'd like, so I've been going down the list of things that have changed lately to see what might be the source of it. I probably just spoil the critters too much now that I've gotten them hooked on Rod's Food... yeah, the more chemipure the better, imo. your fish should be speaking fluent french in no time. I was hoping for German but I'll take what I can get. Link to comment
meganistkrieg
inTank Fixed!! Sorry Stevie... No problems with using a full unit then? Link to comment
StevieT
You didn't have to go and fix it, just screwing around but thanks. As long as it isn't hurting the flow then nope, no problem. The more chemi pure the wetter the water. Link to comment
