My hydrometer is giving a new readin every time, even without adding salt. It was at 1.025 yesterday, 1.020 this morning and now 1.017. Any help :(

What kind is it? They aren't that good and you should probably get a refractometer. With that said I have used a coralife withou problems but I had a red sea and the thing sucked big time.

i had issues with them as well. my problem was allways having air bubbles on the pointer every time. just too inaccurate. I ended up with a refractometer and love it :)

I sometimes do, yet then when i get 'em off, it still the same and always changes after every test.

Edit: There a little expensive, it cost $44.99 plus shipping, I looked up my local pet stores and they didn't have them so i have to pay shipping too.

You can probably find one cheaper online if you look around, there's just no comparison between those and a hydrometer and you're going to need to buy one eventually...

+1 Refractometer was one of the best things I purchased for my tank. Very accurate readings and very easy to use. Instead of having to stick the whole stupid hydrometer in the water you just need like 3 drops.
