seahorsedreams
Well, it finally starts we are turning this Into this Started peeling away some of the room and removing baseboards for the stand. We got a very sexyful sliding chop saw... it was simply beautiful :-) A 15 amp Reciprocating saw and a couple other cool toys. We were getting high fives from peeps leaving Home Depot...lol. (side note: Does anyone know where to go look at fireplace facing in Southern California. It seems it's "seasonal" in some stores... I don't wanna look at that thing until Christmas!) So the tank is going to be 84"L x 24"D x 24"H, 3/4" acrylic. 34" stand. The corner overflow will be the inner right backside. This will have all my mediun lions and scorps in there.... I can't wait. seahorsedreams
The fireplace is coming out and being replaced by a new one. It's just massive and white and as cheap looking as the Sea Foam green walls. But it didn't come out as easy as planned. Tomorrow were are taking the sawzall to it. We've been watching DIY Network...LOL! All my dwarf and medium lions are ready to be put together. I'm still not 100% sure who will end up going in here. This is going to be a challenge to plumb. We won't be putting any powerheads or anything around the sides. We have a Reefflo Dart to go on here as well as an oceans motions. The rest we have yet to decide on. Link to comment
seahorsedreams
Oh ya... we want to soundproof the stand. What have y'all done to yours? We put this pricey vibration reducing pads under the pumps on one of our tanks and it is AWESOME. Any other stuff you recommend? On the other side of this will be a 65" LED TV with 4 theater recliners that have buttkickers bass in the seats and power recline. Napping while watching TV and looking at the tank will be so lovely from now on. Link to comment

seahorsedreams
Well, I got the lumbar cut. We spent most of our day trying to demo the fireplace. They had some weird things done to it.... idiots. Some of the toys we got to help our projects along.... table saw, router and planner coming... The 15 amp Sawzall. Chop saw. A finisher set to put the stand all together. A little Kreg thingy to secure the stand ... super easy to use. This little Dremel Multi-tool thing turned out to be extra handy. Guess which the little one liked best... Link to comment

So, I can get on 'Dirty jobs' w/ Mike Rowe...." Aren't they freaking great! He helped with every project. The city we live in now allows fireworks where our old one didn't... we bought him lots of fireworks for his efforts. he thinks he found the solution for the pigeon problem... He's gonna be a catch for some woman because he is always interested in handy work... his older brother will spend all his money on contractors or buying his little brother beer to do his work. You'll notice the older brother is nowhere to be seen on project day....lol. Link to comment
