speakerpedal
So I recently started cycling my 3 gal pico tank and have started with and AC 20. I don't have any chaeto yet because I'm waiting on my store to get some more in. My question is, can I get by with the 20 and a powerhead? Also, when creating a fuge, is it necessary to have a light for it? Best, Matt Link to comment
Trick
You need a light for the fuge so the algae will grow. No light, no algae. Link to comment
.Newman.
AC20 puts out little flow and has little room for chaeto anyway, maybe you could think about upgrading all the way to AC70 if you havent gotten the AC 20 yet? Link to comment
Gerber77
When I had my 3 gallon picotope this is what I did: Removed stock filter and replaced with an AquaClear 50 - removed filter pad, replaced with live rock rubble, filter floss, chaeto Used stock clip on light over the Aquaclear 50 to give the chaeto light Added a 12" Coralife Mini Aqualight - Great addition - Link to comment

Gerber77
Everybody is just saying that the flow might be a little low, causing spots to accumulate algae and waste. Will you be adding a powerhead? Link to comment
.Newman.
in addition to the AC add a K-nano powerhead or something of the like. Link to comment
