Weetabix7
Looks like Gelidium possibly. Diff to control, if so. Link to comment

Rem
I had this in my tank. It's so tough its hard to scrub off, so I gave up on it. After larger weekly water changes, less feedings and a phosphate reactor with rowaphos, this stuff slowly went away in my tank.. now its completely gone. Link to comment
willp2
I like the idea of an emerald, but I hear they are hit as miss as far as being reef safe. Any thoughts on that? Link to comment
meganistkrieg
I like the idea of an emerald, but I hear they are hit as miss as far as being reef safe. Any thoughts on that? Have had two that were/are wonderful. Algae-eating machines and neither ever even tasted a coral - I suspect that what people think is emeralds eating coral is actually the crab eating from between the corals. Also very entertaining little guys! Link to comment

Its not easy but its not impossible. Link to comment
johnmaloney
trick to catching a crab, and this works for almost any crab, is to move your hand towards them very quickly at first, they will think you are going to get them, and they sink down and cling rather than run into the rocks. If you move at them slowly they will take off on you and then you have to be quick. Link to comment
willp2
So I got myself an emerald and he seems mellow. I was worried about the crab, but my watchman has taken a few swipes at it. That would be quite a meal for the watchman, hopefully he's just sizing up the new guest. Link to comment
imsobored152
I have 2 emeralds, a red and green. they get along with everything great. never touched a coral. I feed mine shrimp pellets every so often. they usually come to me when I have food, take it right from my hand. Mine dont run from me when I put my hand near, they pinch my fingers Link to comment
