joshnanoreef
My clownfish has what looks almost like a tiny "bite" in its top fin. Also, it has a few medium-sized black spots on its body. What is this???!!! Should I be worried? btw- it's the only fish in the aquarium. Link to comment

cheryl jordan
Try googling, black ich on marine fish, and see what you think. Please list all corals and inverts ie: crabs, brittle stars, mushrooms...... Where is the clown hanging out in the tank ? Link to comment

I have green zoanthids, pulsing xenia, a pinkish kind of mushroom, yellow polyps, and a leather coral. I also have a scarlet and blue legged hermit, snails, and small brittle stars. Link to comment
cheryl jordan
Clownfish will develop black spots if they are being stung by a coral they are residing in such as the corals Iisted in a previous post, and some other corals as well. As far as the possible damage to the fin, just watch and make sure it does not get larger or appear shredded. If the clownfish is active, eating and not breathing heavily I would just wait and watch.
