Airheads are definitely a serious part of building a new reef system, just have to make sure they are the right flavor!!

Looking good... Which glass holes kit did you end up getting for this build. I have been wanting to do a 40 br myself...

700. I did a lot of research and found people had the best results with that one

What return pump are you gonna be using?

Also what are your plans for the sump?

Oh and is this just a regular upgrade or are you doing something crazy?

I can see the 20 long in the background - it looks like it's scared...

new tank does look sexy though.

I will always have a place in my heart for the 20L, it is an awesome size. I kinda see the 40br as a super sized 20L :D . Still going to be focusing on inverts just like the 20L with a special surprise to come later. Also going to have some softies as well. Going to tackle the plumbing tonight. I'm using a Tunze 1073.040 for the return

40br looks really nice. I can see myself upgrading soon too but will definitely be following your build on this.

Maybe its because I am completely hammered and cannot think straight, but whats going on with the egg crate? I mean, I see that its cut, but WHAT is it cut for?

BTW, as mentioned I am completely hammered at this point, feel free to have a mod delete this post so as not to messssss up your tank thread........

Haha well seeing I wont have a whole lot of corals I don't need a 40. The return is gonna be putting out plenty too

Pumbing looks good,be sure to use clamps on all tubing.I prefer to intall my return pumps or pump outside of the sump/wet dry filter, less heat trasfer and makes for more room inside :D .

I just got myself a 40 br as well from Petco's A Dollar A Gallon sale.Im trying to decide what to do as far as filtration.

I Was thinking of doing the same thing with the eggcrate just so the rock is not just sitting on the smooth glass floor, are there any other reasons to do this that im missing??.I plan on cutting one for the top also for jumpers.

I'll be tracking along

Hope everyting goes smooth.

Where do you mount the pump if it's on the outside? I know this Tunze one is either/or.

Exactly as shiver said .
