Dani3d
it could be chimical war between coral. One coral is stressed out and then start to send chimical in the water and affect the others. You can put carbon to absorb this and it is a good practice to have at least some amount of carbon permanently to absorb any possible chimical warfar going on when you have mixed coral. I would put some carbon and if things do not get better after a few days, check for disease in the new coral or maybe you introduced some parasites, not sure. im sittin here next to my tank, everything looks great. until one of my kenya trees closes up... then my xenia starts to close up. now 4 of the 7 heads of my hammer are closed up... as well as all my xenia and about 20% of my kenya trees whats happening? all params are fine... the only change i made to the tank is a new tuxedo urchin and blue hornets... all params are perfect... what would be wrong?? thanks Link to comment

meganistkrieg
Yea corals randomly do that sometimes, no worries IMO... +1 Now and again mine will all close up a bit, then reopen - sometimes the lot of them, sometimes just a few, somtimes just all the mushrooms, sometimes just the hammer, etc. Wouldn't worry about it unless they're closing up frequently and for extended periods...
