Dani3d
I just got a new smaller red rock flower anemone and after a good acclimatation I put it in my tank about a feet away from my first one (huge!) green rock flower and the red one crawled to the green and since that day (a week ago) they have been toutching each other, side by side, foot to foot. Is that normal? Do they feel more secure being so close to each other? I am worried because the large one sort of keep the smaller one in the shade and sometime it extend and even cover the small one completely, yet the small one does not move from there. wierd no? What do you think? should I be worried that the small one does not receive enough light from this? or will the large one eventualy kill the small one? Link to comment
cheryl jordan
No they probably just moved to the most ideal spot for them. If one is not getting enough light it will move. No worries. I like pictures of anemones please Link to comment
Dani3d
Ok, here is a pic of the 2 anemones: As you can see the larger one sort of extend to cover the other: It is nearly 6" wide when fully extended. It's quite big for a rock flower. The smaller one is about 4". And here I toutched the large one to make it lift its tentacles a bit so that I could take a pic of the red one: What do you think? No they probably just moved to the most ideal spot for them. If one is not getting enough light it will move. No worries. I like pictures of anemones please Link to comment
Rehype
Rock Anemones like to be grouped close together. They do that in the wild. Beautiful Specimens BTW Link to comment

Dani3d
I got it in at a local LFS in Montreal, Canada, specialized in salwater. I had asked them to find flower anemones for me and they found first the green one and then after quite a bit of time (few months) they finaly found the red I was looking for. They had 3 red but only one had mixed color (dark and light) in the tentacles. Needless to say I did not pay 8$ like it's usualy solf for in the USA. I paid 50$ for the green and 58$ for the red. They are colorful and peacefull, plus they really don't move much and I toutched them a few time and I never been sting or felt any pain from toutching them. They also don't require as much light as other anemones. Ok, where the hell did you get that red flower anemone?!?! It's awesome. Link to comment
