cheato in media bag?

Would cheato work in a mesh media bag with a sub light stuck in it and tied and dropped in chamber 2? I use egg crate and am trying to keep stray cheato from floating in the tank. Tried the media basket and didn't like in BC8. thanks!

I've had my chaeto in Chamber #2 in the middle with the lower tray below that and then Chemupure Elite at the bottom. I've never had any stray chaeto floating around anywhere...

That's going to cause it to become too compacted and will also reduce a good deal of water motion around it. If you are looking for more optimized growth, I would not do this.

Really? That's exactly what I have and when I do water changes I clean out the back chamber. Inevitably cheato bits escape and make their way to the tank.
