Militant Jurist
Huh, that's interesting. I had just never seen Macro be irritated or affected by coral before. I actually think that my pavona caused one of my macros to break apart. About a quarter of the macro is now located elsewhere in the tank. None of my fish or inverts have gone after it previously, and the break was right next to the pavona. I think it got the munchies. Quote Link to comment

cheryl jordan
Weetie can you tell me more about the medium in the fuge. Is the water still cloudy ? Do you think the mud is what it is cracked up to be ? I really love this system, it looks great. TIA Quote Link to comment
Weetabix7
Weetie can you tell me more about the medium in the fuge. Is the water still cloudy ? Do you think the mud is what it is cracked up to be ? I really love this system, it looks great. TIA I really love the Fiji Mud I have in the Fuge. It's this stuff: http://premiumaquatics.com/store/merchant....;Category_Code= It's cloudy when you first put it in, but it clears up surprisingly fast. I put it in and let it sit without filtration for about an hour, then I turned the pumps on. I just put a Poly-Filter pad in my filtration and it cleared up all the stray particles within about half an hour and it stayed clear. It gets really cloudy anytime you stir it up at all, but it clears up quickly. I think this stuff is awesome for a Fuge. I wouldn't put it in a Display Tank without putting a very thin layer of sand over it to control the cloudiness caused when it gets stirred up. If you've read the earlier pages you saw that I'm seeing some really cool coloration on my Blue Scrolling Macro and I do attribute that totally to this Mud. Even though I only have an inch in the fuge I'm already starting to see different colors of layers forming in it, like different strata. It's too early to say much more about it, but I really like what I'm seeing so far. LMK if I didn't answer your questions adequately, but I hope that helps. cheryl jordan
Thanks Weetie, That about covers it, I have been looking at the product in the LFS for about a year now, it is expensive, at least the brand I was looking at. All the reviews say it is wonderful for macro algae systems, and pod and such. I like the concept of it being more diverse in regard to different types of bacteria and composition as oppoesd to sterile sand or other products that calm to be live. I was also wondering how mangroves would do in it, seems like it would be ideal. Anyway thanks. Quote Link to comment

Weetabix7
You've got some really cool lookin' gear in there, Weets Thank you Sir. It's very disorganized right now as you can see, I have a lot of rearranging to do. I've added a TON of Macros both to the Display and to the Fuge. Will try to do a more detailed update in the morning. Thanks for stopping by, always nice to see you here. Quote Link to comment

Weetabix7
Your nitrates and phosphates better be at zero or you're doing it wrong, lol. Heh, yeah. Like I said, total Macro Forest in there right now. It looks so cool though, much cooler in real life than in the pics. I'm loving these Macros so much that John has been sending that I almost feel like getting rid of some corals and going Macro Dominant on my tanks right now. I'm really enjoying this stuff, John is the shiznit. Quote Link to comment
