Ok so I got some new pieces that were 50% off because the lfs is getting rid of there salt water stuff. One piece I bought because it had a few cool looking shrooms. Well I put it in the tank and there are 2 clam/oyster things? of some sort, some white fuzzy stuff (kinda looks like cotton), and a maroon anenoma? Please help me identify these!!!

Can you see the dark maroon thing in the center of the pic?

What is the white stuff and what is the shelled thing?

Can u see the clam in the second pic? Amy ideas?

Just a HH clam. In the first pic, check out vermatid snails. They release this white stringy web to catch food.

What is a hh clam? I was thinking maybe a mollusk?

Sorry it is just a hitch hiker clam.

Lol oh duh. What are the odds of it's survival?

It really depends. They hang out for a while, sometimes a long time, then just disappear.

better pic of maroon stuff. What is it?

The maroon stuff is coraline algae, good stuff give it a few months and you will have it growing everywhere you'll even have to scrape the glass. :D

Lol sweet. I can't wait!

Wait hang on. The one with the green arrow looks more maroon to me than the coralline so I feel like that's what you are talking about.

So,

green arrow = cyano

yellow arrow = coralline

WOW, how did I miss that? Yeah Justin is right, that stuff is bad. You do not want that growin'.

Sorry for the oversight.
