tony.pham
Hey, I'm trying to find a light fixture for a 3x3 fuge area. I've seen stuff like the biocube LED lights, where they scrape the black off and just attach it to the back of the tank, but for my Barracuda, I'm looking for something to rest on top, or simply attach it to the lighting fixture i have (It has a nice neck piece I can attach a small fixture to) I was looking at http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaMaxx_LED_Fl...-ZQ1111-vi.html and was wondering if it alone can grow chaeto that I plan on putting back there, and have enough coverage to give some night moonlight to the display as well. I'm an LED noob, but I'm also open to other possible fixtures or small stuff out there as well. Thanks Link to comment
evilc66
For macro, much better: http://shop.mediabaskets.com/Underwater-5W...ght-5WLight.htm Moonlights aren't designed to grow to macro. You can also find much cheaper moonlights than that. Link to comment
bluefunelement
I haven't tried the underwater lights but I have found 7-18w 6500-10k PC's grow the best for me - small LED's like the JBJ nano-GLO aren't getting as much growth. For 4x3" maybe 7w would be fine! They get hot so I like to raise them abit away from the glass so heat transfers away vs directly onto the tank glass. Link to comment
