VannM
I have got a 12 gal nano that iv had around 2 years. Iv let it go and havnt been doing hardly any maintenance for around 6 months. My corals and fish seem to be doing fine so Iv only changed the cotton out of the back once every 2 months or so. I also havnt been doing any water changes to speak of in probably 6 months. Another thing I have been slacking on is cleaning the glass. Im wanting to get the aquarium back looking good and iv got this hard purple and white stuff stuck to the glass. I used a paint scraper on the sides but it doesnt work for the curved front part. I dont care if this purple stuff is all over the rocks and back of the tank but id like to get it gone from the glass part. Any suggestions on removal would be great. -Vann Link to comment
herranton
lol Use a razor blade going horizontal along the tank. and do a water change too. Link to comment

bruce922
If you want to remove it use a razor blade, or one of those tools that enable you to reach in the tank and do it. But why get rid of it? I want more of it. I do scrap it off of the front and sides of the tank, but the back I like! Bruce Link to comment

VannM
Thanks for the fast replies! I thought about using a razor but didnt know if it would hurt it since I think its acrylic insted of glass. When I first got the tank I wanted more purple. Now I want to get rid of it, lol. I thought about doing more water changes but since everything is living I dont want to F it up. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
If your rock isn't too high, you can kill coralline by leaving it exposed to air (i.e. during a large water change) for a few minutes. Link to comment
