.Newman.
ok so Yesterday I completely finished my LED fixture, and I put it on the tank. 1. the lighting now looks a bit wacky. like some sort of disco is going on in my tank... 2. Blue Cree LEDs rock! and FTS and some pics of my corals under the blue Crees will soon be posted Link to comment
Mr. Microscope
Awesome! Congrats! I can't wait to see. Link to comment
.Newman.
thats BS. my camera cannot handle the blue Crees, so only blue color shows on the pics >_< Thus I cannot post the awesome wicked shots of my corals in their neon colors under the blue Crees. At least I can post a crappy FTS: Link to comment
Mr. Microscope
Since installing my PAR, I've been experimenting with Photoshop to make my photos look as close to reality as I can. I'm starting to get pretty close. After opening the image in Photoshop, open the levels. Then, adjust each histogram for R, G, and B so that there are no blank spots on either end. You'll probably see Red and Green concentrated on the right and Blue concentrated on the left. After adjusting each individual color histogram, go to the RGB combined histogram and move gamma (middle slider) slightly to the left. Look at your aquarium while doing this and you should be able to tune it in pretty close. That GSP sure looks awesome! Zoas too! Link to comment
.Newman.
thanks for the tips! oh wait...theres no photoshop on my computer x_x Link to comment

.Newman.
best of all i can finally look at my corals under only the actinic lighting. blue crees = the best actinics around x_x thanks Link to comment
.Newman.
OK, so my camera turns out to not be as bad as I had thought, its just that I forgot to set the white balance correctly for the new lights. I had been working with the white balance from the PC lighting I took off. Best of all I can now post very accurate Actinic shots! This is very close to what the tank looks like under normal lighting: And these are going to be all the actinic shots: Kinda cool that I can get these shots to work w/o any photoshop Link to comment
racechase
What are the deets on the LED fixture? Link to comment
.Newman.
details(lol): 3 cool white Cree LEDs 3 Royal Blue Cree LEDs a 6" heatsink 2 Mean Well LPC-35-700W drivers (one for each color) and a fan for the heatsink. and thats about it. this is basically what it was: DIY LED from rapidleds.com I did not put my 80 degree optics on the LEDs, even though i have those. I do not believe they are needed with a small tank this size Link to comment
