I've just moved the tank so I'll see if it stabilizes a bit. I live in vegas where temperatures are always one extreme or the other! </threadjack> Link to comment
rogue Posted April 19, 2010 Share Posted April 19, 2010 All 5 have slowly gotten smaller and died, I was feeding 4 times a day and it still did not help. I am going to take my water to get tested today to see if that was the problem. *Edit, I took the water to get tested and found out that my ph was at 4, and my nitrates were high, and thats why they were shrinking and dying. I have since used a marine booster, and I actually was able to save one of the little guys, I am going to work on keeping a close eye on him, and getting him healthy again. Link to comment

PH on my tank has looked a little low at times, but well within tolerable levels. I added a gold and black chromis to the Biube last night and he looks great so far. the last damsel didn't even make it through the night, so I'm hoping this is the light at the end of the tunnel. moving the tank seems to have helped the temperature stabilize a lot. hopefully I can put some jellies in there soon, but I know I gotta keep these hardy suckers alive first! fiathriel Posted February 24, 2012 Share Posted February 24, 2012 I recently bought a biOrb baby and have been cycling it for about 5 weeks. I also own the large cylindrical tank from Jellyfish Art. I'm in Australia. Lot the first lot of 4 moon jellies in the cylindrical tank, ammonia was too high and they disintegrated, there were many tears and was very disappointed as I followed all the Jellyfish Art instructions and because of being in Australia, the tank and all the conversion to 240 volt was around $800USD. So the guy at our local saltwater specialist shop suggested I buy some live rock and leave it in the tank for 2 weeks to get the proper bacteria colony, he says that it's better to use real live bacteria colonies that using the cycle you buy off the shelf. Have had a new set of 4 moon jellies for about 3 weeks but 2 aren't going so great. They spend most of the time at the bottom of the tank and all 4 have been shrinking. I've tried regular water changes and smaller and more regular feeds. Salt, pH, Ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrites are all tested every couple of days and are all spot on so I'm not sure what else to do to get them looking as healthy and lively as they did when I first got them. I have 8 jellies going strong right now (lost only one right after acclimation). You can read about the conversion at jellyorb.com; otherwise here is a youtube video.
