pismo_reefer
The Pico flooded while I was gone... The ATO got stuck ON somehow. It pumped 1.5g's of freshwater tthru my 1g Pico.... I cant, for the life of me, figure out HOW it happened. I have no snails, nor anything else that could have depressed the ato switch. I think that my PITA MotherInLaw (the "tank/ baby-sitter"), wasn't watching my 4 yr. old and HE did it... (she would NEVER admit that...) her story goes: "I came home and there was water everywhere..... That's it... oh well... an accident is just a chance to rebuild... Link to comment

pismo_reefer
did anything survive the sg swing? My mini-carpet, Grape monti cap, and MOST ofmy zoas are in BAD shape... But, they'll prolly make it. Others were not as fortunate. Im going to M.A.X. for mah B-day, in April, so I might start the 9.5g up again. That way, it can be my Mini-Max Tank.... .Newman.
then that makes no sense, so it must have been what you though it was I'm kinda paranoid about snail-guards now since I'm getting ready to stock my tank soon... Link to comment
cdelicath
Had the same thing happen to me once. Add a timer to the next one. Brinks makes a digital timer that works down to the minute. That way the ATO only has power for a enough time to fill and not enough to over fill. I have mine set at 2 min. Also make sure your fill line from the pump is well above the water line cause if it gets submerged it will create a siphon on you. Sorry to hear about the tank Link to comment
pismo_reefer
good ide on the timer deli... Link to comment
