I am starting a fish only tank. Its a 22x22x22 nano. Got 45lbs of live rock from craigs list. MY question is what is the least abont of light I can go with? What type of light do I need to make sure the live rock gets what it needs to do its job? Whould a small LED light strip do the job? Thanks

just make sure its heavy on the blue side, it will help coraline grow. led would work i would imagine. some t8 flouro's would work great and cost next to nothing.

Live rock doesn't need light to provide filtration. If you have coralline algae, the LEDs may not be sufficient, but that's not so bad. I think you should check for an inexpensive fluorescent fixture.

Can I just use something like currents lunar lights, maybe two units? I cant find any T8 out there. Any tips on on-line store that sell them? Thanks Jared
