Lowe's pond pump as temporary solution

I've read that the problem with pond pumps is that they will tend to rust over time, etc.

 

However, I need a pump to just last about 5-6 days, that I could then return, while I wait for my new eheim to arrive.

 

Does anyone have any experience with using the Lowe's pond pumps (smartpond is the brand) for a short period of time that could tell me whether they could do the job for 5-6 days without 1) rusting; and 2) boiling my water?
