How to Mix D-D Salt.

so i read the instructions and i can see it says 1Lb per 2.9g of water but can anyone give me a cup to gallon ration for it? Thanks.

I have been using a half cup per gallon

Try a 1/2 cup per gallon, test salinity after it mixes for a few minutes.. then adjust as necessary.

Two cups for 5 gallons is what I do. It comes out to about 1.024 sg.

I also use a 1/2 cup per gallon... Salinity mixes at 1.025+ Measured with a Refracto and Hydro

seems like 1/2 cups or less it the consensus. il check my SG in a few hours when temp and salt are all stable.

I know the thread is a little old but I did some checking and 1 cup of table salt weighs .6437 pounds so 1 pound of table salt would be 1.5539 cups. D-D instructions say 1 pound for 3 gallons (to get 1.025) so that works out to roughly 1/2 cup per gallon.

Trial and error to find what works for you? It's not going to be much different from any other salt you have used
