moose12
These white/black polyps hitchhiked on a green button polyp rock. I have no idea what they are. Though they seem to have a calcerous skeleton of some kind, I'm at a loss. I have searched and searched and seen nothing like 'em, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thnx, Chris Link to comment

moose12
some perspective as to the size of them, the polyps are circled in yellow: a little more of a closeup I posted this on reefcentral last night as well and no one has taken a stab at it yet. So I guess these aren't common. The other characteristic I wanted to mention is that they haven't grown in a month. The green polyps that came with the rock have spread and gotten bigger, these haven't changed in size. Link to comment
Angel
I agree with adin on palythoa. Man, if those things do spread, I want to put my name in now for a frag. Those look cool! Angel Link to comment
moose12
Just got an answer from Eric B. on reefcentral. Protopalythoa. The skeleton is carbonate inclusions in the mesoglea. Thanks for the help. And if they do spread I will be very happy and yes once I get that waterproof non-toxic sharpie I'll put write your name on it! Link to comment
